A salt brand with a reason to exist

Salt has spent years being sold through broad origin stories, miracle-mineral language and interchangeable commodity branding. The Rites of Salt takes another route. We name the source. We commission testing. We publish evidence as it clears. And we give the category enough personality to deserve shelf space.

Why it can earn shelf space

  • Named provenance — Kalabagh, Pakistan, within Pakistan's Punjab Salt Range.
  • Evidence-led positioning — testing and report-specific claims rather than unsupported wellness mythology.
  • Distinctive brand world — packaging and tone designed to make a commodity category memorable.
  • Tight core range — six clear products across edible salt and bath categories.
  • UK-ready — every order ships from Manchester, UK.

Provenance with a receipt

"Himalayan" is the category language — it's what the whole industry trades under, ourselves included. It is not a source. Our pink salt comes from Kalabagh, Pakistan, within Pakistan's Punjab Salt Range — a specific deposit, not a mountain range borrowed for the name. See the full breakdown on The Science and Our Process, or the consumer-facing guide at Himalayan Pink Salt UK.

Testing without the theatre

Independent testing by TTI Testing Laboratories, product-specific results, and reports that publish as they clear — not a blanket "lab-tested" claim standing in for the whole range. "Not detected" means below the method's detection threshold, not zero. We don't extrapolate a health or medical claim from a purity result. Full detail, including the report images themselves, on Lab Reports and The Science.

The packaging can have attitude. The evidence doesn't get that luxury.

Salt does not need another miracle story

It does need better provenance, better evidence and a brand people can remember.

The Rites of Salt.
Provenance with a receipt, not provenance as theatre.
