2. ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE
By placing an order, you confirm that:
• You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract
• The information you provide is complete and accurate
• You are authorised to use the selected payment method
• You will use the products lawfully and in accordance with their labels and instructions
Our retail website is intended primarily for individual customers. Wholesale or trade purchases may be subject to separately agreed terms.
3. PRODUCTS AND PRODUCT INFORMATION
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, weights, ingredients, prices and other information displayed on the website are accurate.
Because salt is a natural product, its colour, crystal size, texture and appearance may vary slightly between products and batches. Screen settings may also affect how colours appear.
Images are provided for illustration and may not always represent the exact appearance or proportions of the product received.
Product packaging may occasionally be updated, but the product supplied will materially correspond with its description.
Please read all product labels, ingredient information, warnings and usage directions before use.
Edible salt products should only be used for their intended food purpose. Bath products are intended for external use only and must not be consumed.
Our products and website content are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition and do not replace professional medical advice.
4. ALLERGIES AND SENSITIVITIES
Customers are responsible for reviewing the product ingredients and information before purchasing or using a product.
Discontinue use if irritation or an adverse reaction occurs. Seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under medical supervision, have a health condition or have concerns about using a product, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before use.
5. PRICES
Product prices are displayed in pounds sterling unless otherwise stated.
Prices may change from time to time, but changes will not affect an order that we have already accepted.
Any applicable delivery charge will be shown before you complete checkout.
We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If an obvious pricing error is discovered, we may contact you before accepting the order and offer you the opportunity to continue at the correct price or cancel the order.
6. DISCOUNT CODES AND PROMOTIONS
Discount codes and promotional offers:
• Must be used in accordance with their stated conditions
• May have an expiry date
• May apply only to selected products or customers
• Cannot normally be exchanged for cash
• Cannot be applied retrospectively
• Cannot normally be combined unless expressly stated
We may withdraw or amend a promotion where reasonably necessary, but this will not affect an order that has already been accepted.
7. PLACING AN ORDER
You can review and correct your order before submitting payment.
After you place an order, we will send an electronic confirmation acknowledging that we have received it. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
A binding contract is formed when we send confirmation that the order has been dispatched, unless we expressly confirm acceptance at an earlier stage.
Each dispatched order constitutes a separate contract between you and us.
8. ORDER ACCEPTANCE AND CANCELLATION BY US
We may refuse or cancel an order before dispatch where reasonably necessary, including where:
• A product is unavailable
• Payment cannot be authorised
• The delivery address is incomplete or outside our available delivery area
• We identify an obvious pricing or product-information error
• The order appears fraudulent or unauthorised
• The order breaches a purchase restriction or these Terms
If payment has already been taken for an order we cannot fulfil, we will refund the relevant amount to the original payment method.
9. PAYMENT
Payment must be made using one of the methods offered during checkout.
Payments are processed through Shopify and the relevant payment provider. We do not directly store complete payment-card details.
You are responsible for ensuring that the billing and payment information provided is correct.
10. DELIVERY
Available delivery destinations, charges and estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout and explained in our Shipping Policy.
Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days. Standard UK delivery usually takes 2–4 working days after dispatch.
Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by carrier disruption, severe weather, public holidays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Please review our Shipping Policy for full information.
11. RISK AND OWNERSHIP
Responsibility for the products passes to you when they are delivered to you, or to a person identified by you to receive them.
Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full and the products have been delivered.
12. CANCELLATION, RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Eligible customers purchasing online generally have the right to cancel an order within 14 days after receiving it.
To exercise this right, contact:
info@theritesofsalt.com
After notifying us of cancellation, eligible products must normally be returned within a further 14 days.
Some sealed products may be excluded from change-of-mind returns after being unsealed where they are not suitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons.
This does not affect your rights where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Customers must contact us before sending a return so that we can provide the correct instructions.
Please review our Return and Refund Policy for complete information about eligibility, return costs, exclusions and refund processing.
13. FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT PRODUCTS
Products must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for any purpose made known to us where required by applicable consumer law.
Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible if a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, an appropriate remedy may include a refund, replacement, repair where relevant, or price reduction.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
14. WEBSITE AVAILABILITY
We aim to keep the website available and accurate but cannot guarantee that it will always operate without interruption, delay or error.
We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, updates or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may update, change or discontinue website features without notice where reasonably necessary.

• Provide false, misleading or fraudulent information
• Place orders using payment information you are not authorised to use
• Infringe our intellectual-property rights or those of another person
We may restrict access or cancel an affected order where these Terms are materially breached.
16. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The website and its content—including our brand name, logos, product descriptions, photographs, graphics, videos and written material—are owned by or licensed to The Rites of Salt Limited and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may access the website for personal, lawful and non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
17. CUSTOMER REVIEWS AND CONTENT
Where you submit a review, photograph, comment or other content, you confirm that:
• It reflects your genuine experience

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and use submitted content in connection with our website, products and marketing.
We may moderate or remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law. We will not remove a genuine negative review solely because it is unfavourable.
18. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
Our website may use or link to services provided by third parties, including payment processors, delivery providers, review platforms, analytics services and social-media platforms.
Third-party websites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their independent content or practices, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
19. PRIVACY
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how personal data is collected, used, stored and shared.
20. OUR LIABILITY
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was formed.
Our products are supplied for private use unless otherwise agreed. We are not responsible for business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue or loss of business opportunity arising from consumer purchases.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
• Death or personal injury caused by negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Breach of rights that cannot legally be excluded
• Any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law
21. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, carrier disruption, industrial action, transport interruption, governmental action, internet or utility failure, natural disaster or similar events.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of such circumstances and fulfil our obligations when reasonably possible.
22. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our business, products, website, practices or legal obligations.
The version in effect when you place an order will generally apply to that order.
The latest version and its revision date will be published on this page.
23. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
24. NO WAIVER
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that the right has been waived.
25. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms and contracts formed through the website are governed by the laws of Scotland.
As a consumer, you will continue to benefit from any mandatory protections provided by the law of the part of the United Kingdom or other country in which you ordinarily reside.
You may bring proceedings in the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
